WSF Club – Upholding the pillars of Wellbeing, Solidarity & Fortitude
At Shearn Delamore & Co., we believe that we are not only defined by the legal services we provide but also by the values we share and the social responsibilities we embrace. As one of the largest legal service providers in Malaysia, we are deeply committed to fostering a culture that supports kindness, sustainability, and community engagement. The WSF Club was established to embody these goals in our workplace, and in honour and remembrance of our late Partner Mr Wong Sai Fong. Through this club, we aim to enshrine the values that he exemplified—sportsmanship, camaraderie, and community spirit. The WSF Club is Shearn Delamore & Co’s dedicated platform for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sporting activities, showcasing our continued efforts to foster physical wellbeing and contribute positively to society within the Shearn community.
Wellbeing
The WSF Club reflects the firm’s commitment to promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellness within the workplace and the wider community. We believe that through a healthy, balanced lifestyle that nurtures both physical and mental wellness within the firm, our lawyers are better equipped to thrive in a positive work environment—enabling them to serve our clients with greater focus and dedication. We regularly organise and take part in various sporting events within and outside the firm.
Solidarity
We take pride in building a workplace that upholds professional excellence, while equally valuing the wellbeing, growth, and resilience of our people. Our commitment to a respectful workplace conduct reflects a broader recognition that a thriving legal community must extend beyond professional excellence. We are actively working to encourage open dialogue, raise awareness, and embed supportive practices across all levels of the firm.
- As part of our ongoing efforts to promote meaningful change, we are proud to be involved in the WLG | Impact initiative-an international platform focused on achieving positive global impact. Through our global partnerships, we strive to create a workplace culture that champions wellbeing, impact, and sustainability.
- We established funding and contributions to our staff and employees in times of need, in the event of a family bereavement, hospitalisation, or injury, as well as for those facing significant personal difficulties.
- We recognise and reward outstanding academic performance by the children of our employees to encourage and celebrate their excellence.
- As part of our environmental responsibility, we are also taking steps to implement and support eco-friendly policies within the firm. They are demonstrated through our firm’s active transition towards digitalisation and paperless workflows, reducing waste, and encouraging energy-saving habits in daily operations.
Fortitude
We believe that our people are capable of resilience and perseverance in facing life’s challenges, which are characters fundamental to the sustainability of the profession. These values are actively lived out through our programmes, initiatives, and daily practice, reflecting a shared purpose of making a tangible, positive difference. We have organised and supported various initiatives including:
- Food bank programmes
- Educational programme for schools
- Old folks’ homes and orphanages
- NGOs dedicated to supporting women, children, and marginalized communities
