“Shearn Delamore & Co. was then a much smaller firm but now, it has grown to be one of the giants in the field. The firm makes sure that the staff also grow with them. I have been with the firm for more than 50 years now. My ingredients to staying this long with the firm I would say, you must be happy with what you are doing. You have to get along well with the people you are working with. There will be ups and downs along the road but it is good to understand each other. You have to learn how to “give-and-take”. Above all, you have to be honest that in whatever you do, it should bring honour to yourself and to the firm.”

“At the time I joined Shearn in 1963, Peat Marwick had just taken over the accounts so I helped to put a system in place for the firm to prepare its own management accounts. From 1963 till now, all the staff in the accounts department have been well-trained, are friendly, and get along with each other.”
