Patent Executive
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and diligent Patent Technical Executive to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with inventors and businesses, utilizing your technical background and analytical skills in the exciting field of Intellectual Property.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client patent inquiries.
- Manage and progress patent prosecution matters, including:
- Handling Request for Substantive Examination.
- Conducting thorough reviews of Patent Specifications.
- Preparing and filing necessary amendments to Patent specifications in compliance with the Malaysian Patents Act 1983.
- Provide strategic pre-filing advice to clients on new inventions, including conducting patent searches and drafting Patent Specifications.
- Actively contribute to client development initiatives.
- Assist inventors and business owners in understanding and obtaining intellectual property rights to protect their inventions.
- Collaborate closely with our clients and counsel throughout all aspects of the patent process, aligning IP strategies with their business objectives.
- Guide inventors through the patent process, including researching inventions and prior art to assess patentability.
- Advise clients on the patentability of new inventions and innovations.
- Draft patent claims and specifications with precision and clarity.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, providing expert advice on Malaysian patent laws and procedures.
- Review patent specifications, search reports, and examination reports, providing insightful analysis.
- Advise clients on appropriate strategies and courses of action based on patent office findings.
- Undertake any other tasks and projects as assigned by the partners.
- Participate in training to develop expertise in conducting patent searches and drafting patent specifications for new technologies and inventions.
Job Requirements:
- Fresh graduate.
- Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronics. However any other discipline of Science or Engineering is welcomed. On the job training will be provided.
- Must be proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Computer literate with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, be hardworking, diligent, highly motivated, and capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess good work ethics and a professional demeanour.
