Secondment Programme

As part of Drew Network Asia (DNA)’s ongoing collaboration initiatives, our lawyers from Shearn Delamore & Co. alongside member firms Drew & Napier LLC, Martinez Vergara & Gonzalez Sociedad (MVGS) and Tilleke & Gibbins, recently participated in a secondment programme with Makarim & Taira S. in Jakarta.

Shearn’s first team, comprising Jamie Goh and Wong Jing Xiong, and the second team, Wong Jia Jing and Aisyah Muhammad — completed their secondments over the months from August to October 2025.

Throughout the programme, our lawyers gained first-hand experience of Indonesia’s legal landscape and strengthened professional ties with our regional counterparts. The highlights of their engagements included visits to the Constitutional Court of Indonesia and the South Jakarta District Court, participation in discussions with court officers, and attendance at the “Indonesia & ASEAN Beyond 2025: Economic Outlook and Investment Pathways” symposium, held in conjunction with Indonesia’s National Batik Day.

Beyond professional exposure, the secondment also offered an opportunity for our lawyers to connect with colleagues from Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, exchanging perspectives on regional practices and fostering lasting friendships.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Makarim & Taira S. for their warm hospitality and for providing such a welcoming and enriching environment for our lawyers.
