RHB Group’s Integrity Week 2026

RHB Group’s Integrity Week 2026

Shearn Delamore & Co. was pleased to participate in RHB Group’s Integrity Week 2026, where our Partner, Nik Azila Shuhada Nik Abdullah, joined the panel discussion forum on “Developing New Strategies: Towards a Corruption-Free Workplace.”

The session explored the effectiveness of established policies and compliance programmes in preventing corruption and misconduct, as well as the growing importance of strong organisational culture, effective speak-up mechanisms, leadership accountability and evolving risks arising from AI, digitalisation, procurement and third-party relationships.

The discussion also considered the practical application of Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 and the importance of ensuring that adequate procedures are not treated as a one-off compliance exercise, but as a framework that is continuously reviewed, tested and strengthened.

We thank RHB Group’s Legal and Group Integrity and Governance team for the invitation, to moderator Harisham Bin Ibrahim (Chief Operating Officer of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity), and to fellow panellist Nurirdzuana Ismail (Secretary General of Transparency International Malaysia) for a thoughtful and constructive discussion.

Effective compliance is not demonstrated by the existence of a policy alone, but by the organisation’s ability to show that its controls are working in practice. Shearn Delamore & Co. remains committed to supporting clients in building governance frameworks that meet both the letter and the spirit of Malaysia's anti-corruption law.
