IAFL Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting 2026

We are pleased to share that our Partner, Hee Hui Ting, recently attended the IAFL: International Academy of Family Lawyers Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting, held at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur from 20 to 24 May 2026. Attending alongside members of Drew Network Asia (DNA), including Directors Shu Mei, Hoon (洪淑媚) TEP and Johnson Loo from Drew & Napier LLC, and Eduardo Martinez, Partner from Martinez Vergara & Gonzalez Sociedad (MVGS), the participants engaged in discussions focused on cross jurisdictional family law issues and current developments affecting practice across jurisdictions.

The chapter meeting was preceded by the International Family Law Symposium on 19 May 2026 at Wisma Badan Peguam Malaysia. Titled "Burning Issues and Trends in International Family Law," the symposium was a joint initiative by the Malaysian Bar Council Family Law Committee and the IAFL. Our Partner, Anand Raj, attended the symposium in his capacity as the President of the Malaysian Bar.

In conjunction with the conference and symposium, DNA representatives also visited our Shearn Delamore & Co. office, hosted by our Managing Partner, Rodney Gomez, alongside Partners Shanti Mogan, Jimmy Liew, Suganthi Singam and Wai Fong Lai. The visit offered a welcoming space for informal discussions and a meaningful exchange of insights across our respective practice areas.
