Corporate/M&A Update: Revised Guidelines on Exchange-Traded Funds

The Securities Commission Malaysia ("SC") had on 2 March 2026 issued the revised guidelines in relation to exchange-trade funds ("ETF"), with the objective of facilitating the offering of and enhancing the regulatory framework for digital currency ETF.

Key amendments relate to, among other things, key requirements and guidance relating to digital currency ETF, requirements to submit a preliminary application pack for the establishment, listing and quotation of units of ETF to promote early engagement between the SC and the applicant, and other housekeeping and editorial amendments.
