Corporate/M&A Update: Introduction of MY Value Programme by SC and Bursa Malaysia
On 20 April 2026, the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) and Bursa Malaysia announced the introduction of the MY Value Up Programme, a joint initiative aimed at supporting Malaysian public-listed companies ("PLCs") in enhancing long-term value creation and strengthening their attractiveness to the investors.
The programme is intended to encourage PLCs to adopt a more proactive and structured approach in articulating their growth strategies, as well as to improve the quality, transparency and forward-looking nature of their disclosures. These efforts are aimed at enhancing investors’ confidence and facilitating more informed capital allocation decisions.
The programme forms part of broader regulatory efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s capital market ecosystem and is aligned with the Capital Market Masterplan 2026–2030.
A guidebook setting out the expectations under the MY Value Up Programme will be released by first half of 2026 to support the implementation this programme.
