Our work in Islamic finance represents a significant component of our Financial Services Practice Group.

We are experienced and well versed in a broad range of Islamic financing and advise clients on a spectrum of Islamic finance transactions, including acquisition finance, project and infrastructure finance, real estate finance, Sukuk and other debt capital market products, refinancing and restructuring. We also advise on Islamic securities investments, the offerings of Islamic securities and derivatives in Malaysia, financial services and capital market regulations, the regulation of Islamic financial institutions and financial intermediaries under the Malaysian legal regime.

We advise and act for onshore and offshore Islamic financial institutions/financiers and advisers in structuring complex and innovative Islamic finance and products involving multiple Shariah principles such as Murabahah, Tawarruq, Hiwalah, Kafalah, Ijarah, Istisna’, Mudarabah, Bai’ Bithaman Ajil, etc. We also advise local as well as multinational corporations, government-linked companies, private equity and other funds, investment trusts, etc. undertaking Islamic financing transactions.

In the course of our work in Islamic finance, we deal and associate with the relevant authorities, regulators, Islamic financial institutions/financiers, Shariah advisers, scholars and counsels, which enable us to keep abreast with market developments in the Islamic financial services industry and deliver practical and commercially driven solutions to address and resolve any Islamic finance issue encountered by our clients.
